Shouldn’t Mess Up with My Hidden Heiress Ex-wife Chapter 20 by HusnaS

20. Trapped

GK Group was severing its ties with AG Group?

As Heidi entered her room, the thought resonated in her mind as she’d long put Lilian’s provocation at the back of her mind.

She sat on the bed, contemplating.

Both AG Group and GK Group had great power and could stand on their own, before AG Group began to face crises.

Until now, Heidi never knew that GK Group had such deep connections with AG Group.

Lucas didn’t know about her connection with the Olsens Family. Only a handful of people, apart from her family members knew of her existence in the Olsens Family.

Lucas pulling out the investments…

It definitely wasn’t because of her. Then was it because of Zach?

Heidi put two and two together and arrived at a conclusion.

However, why would Lucas do that? It shouldn’t be out of jealousy, right?

Ha!

Heidi laughed at her own thoughts, shoving them aside.

She entered the bathroom, took a warm bath, changed into her pajamas, dried her hair and got ready for bed.

Then the ringtone of her phone disrupted the silence in the room.

She grabbed it from the bedside table and stared at the strange number then glanced at the time.

The call ended, then it rang again.

“Hello-” Heidi placed it on her ear, but her word was interrupted by a deep painful voice.

“Heidi, you’ve got to come save me. Damnit! I’m in trouble.”

The voice sounded drunk and was groaning in pain. Zach’s once tenor voice, bright and clear, was now deep and sorrowful.

“Zach, are you alright? Where are you?”

“StarryNight Bar. Please hurry up, Heidi. Damnit!”

The call ended, and Heidi blinked.

She scrambled off the bed, pushed the phone inside her pajama pocket, and grabbed her purse and a shawl from the closet.

Wrapping the shawl around her neck, Heidi darted out of her room and down the stairs.

“Heidi, you silly girl! Where are you off to this night?” Grandpa Jeffrey’s voice boomed from upstairs.

“I’ll be back soon, Grandpa! Zach’s in trouble!” Heidi yelled out, not looking back as she left through the large doors.

At the servants’ quarters, Heidi met John about to retire to bed. “Young Miss, I can take you-”

“No, just give me the keys. I’ll be back in a jiffy.” Heidi grabbed the car keys from him and raced out of the mansion.

It would take thirty minutes to reach StarryNight Bar if she took the highway. Taking the shortcut would only take ten to fifteen minutes.

The better option was clear. There weren’t many cars on the narrow street, except for the streetlights flickering.

Heidi fiddled with her phone while holding the steering wheel with the other hand. She dialed that strange number, but it went to voicemail.

Heidi’s anxiety heightened and she increased the car’s speed.

The farther she got from the residential area where the mansion stood, the narrower the street became. Moments later, she arrived at NightBay Street, an almost dilapidated area.

Most of the streetlights had died and the rest were flickering. A hollow silence hung in the atmosphere and the bone-chilling cold sipped through the car’s door, making her shudder.

Heidi pressed on the accelerator to increase the car’s speed, then out of nowhere, three black similar-looking cars blocked her path.

Five men in black clothes alighted from the cars, heading towards her car.

Heidi pulled the brakes, coming to a screeching halt, her heart pounding.

Alarms went off in her head and she took a reverse, then the back of her car bumped into another car.

The impact was not hard, and through the rearview mirror, Heidi sighted similar men in dark clothes alighting from the car behind.

Her eyes darted back to the front. The five men were dangerously near.

Heidi’s car was blocked both from the front and the back, and she felt trapped.
